Early on we began to notice how many artists we knew, were also big movie geeks.
So, why not combine our two favorite things - movies and art!
And so, the "Movie Geek Art Show" was born.
Together with our friends from "The Big Bone Art Show",
we put together a great gathering of artists, costumed characters and popcorn!
Take a look...

The votes are in...
and we have a winner
in the 2008 Movie Geek Art Show
costume contest...
Marlena got the votes with her kick-ass version (literally) of Varla from
"Faster Pussycat, Kill Kill".
Congratulations to her!!!
And thanks to everyone who entered the contest.
And yes, all mimes were promptly disqualified. Number 1, because it wasn't from a movie! Number 2, nobody likes mimes - period.
Plus we unveiled the new "Movie Geek Art Show" T-shirt!!
Message us if you want to get one of your own...
A special thanks to Jim and Jordan for the live music...
We'd also like to thank "Ear's A Poppin'" for providing the great popcorn, "Apex Theatres" for donating to the prize package, and of course "Wild and Woolly Video" for letting us take over their store for a night.
And THANKS to everyone who came out to the show!!

There are still some pieces from the show available for sale! If you see a piece you are interested in, or just an artist you would like to see more of their work, message us here at "Movie Meltdown" and we will try to get the information you need or put you in contact with the artist.
We had a great turn out and a lot of fun!! So thanks to everyone for coming out and a big thanks to all the artists that took time out to create artwork specifically for this show!! You guys are not only impressive artists, but you're pretty damned cool as well. Thanks again for coming out, the shows are only fun if you show up!!!
Thanks to Our Photographers!! A "special" thanks to Nicole, Misty, Jessica, Robyn and everyone else who helped us "cover" this event. They too are, artists. So give them a little respect. Good work!
